Abstract:

The Geo-spatial Classification Dataset of Rural Gentrification in Nanjing, China (2020) was developed based on the 534 rural communities in Nanjing, employing mobile user portrait data, a quantitative evaluation clustering model, and comparative analysis of typical cases. The dataset includes: (1) mobile user portrait data for 534 rural communities in Nanjing, including population size, occupational structure, consumption level, household assets, scale changes, job-housing differences, and non-local population distribution; (2) classification of the 534 rural communities into three categories based on the degree of gentrification: Gentrified Villages, Villages with Gentrification Potential, and Non-Gentrified Rural Villages. The dataset is archived in .shp and .xlsx data formats, consists of 8 data files with data size of 3.15 MB (compressed into one single file with 1.90 MB). The scientific findings based on the dataset was published at the Acta Geographica Sinica, Vol.80, No.3, 2025.
