Abstract:

The tree-ring width chronology in Biru County of Tibet of China was developed from 60 cores of 32 trees (Juniperus tibetica). According to the statistics of cross dating, the average correlation coefficient is 0.607, the average sensitivity is 0.281, and the percentage of missing rings is 0.354%. May-June Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) of Biru was reconstructed by the results of the growth-climate response analysis. The calibration period is 1950-2006. The variance explained is 45.4%. The split-calibration statistics from 1950 to 1978 and 1979 to 2016 show that all reduction of error (RE) and coefficient of efficiency (CE) are greater than 0, and both sign tests are significant at the 99% confidence interval, which indicates that the calibration equation is stable and has prediction ability. The dataset includes: (1) location data of sampling points; (2) reconstruction data of May-June Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) from 1075 to 2016 and fast Fourier transform data of 31 years. The dataset was archived in .xls and .shp data formats, and consists of 8 data files with data size of 94.3 KB (Compressed into one single file with 28.1 KB).
