Abstract:

The Spatial-Temporal Patterns Dataset of Diurnal Freeze-thaw Cycles of the Near-surface Soil in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (2002-2020) was developed based on the integration among AMSR-E, AMSR-2, and MODIS LST products with Fourier functions. The dataset includes the following data covering Qinghai-Tibet Plateau region from 2002-2020: (1) distribution data of the average number of days of diurnal freeze-thaw cycles per year; (2) distribution data of the average monthly number of days of diurnal freeze-thaw cycles; (3) distribution data of the rate of change of the number of days of diurnal freeze-thaw cycles; (4) distribution data of the annual starting points of diurnal freeze-thaw cycles; (5) the starting date changes of diurnal freeze-thaw cycles; (6) area changes of diurnal freeze-thaw cycles; (7) In situ observation data at Wushaoling station; (8) FTI and LST at Shiquanhe and Wudu stations; (9) accuracy validation data. The spatial data is in 1 km grid. The dataset is archived in .tif, .xlsx and .txt formats, and consists of 33 data files with data size of 391 MB (compressed to 1 file with 78.9 MB). The analysis paper based on the dataset will be published in coordination with Acta Geographica Sinica, Vol. 78, No. 3, 2023.
