Abstract:
In this study, we had firstly clarified the spatial distribution of trends and decade variations in Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) based on the Empirical Orthogonal Function method. Secondly, we utilized the land-use datasets (a spatial resolution of 30 m) collected in 2000, 2010, and 2020 to distinguish areas with strong and weak anthropogenic interference on the Loess Plateau. Notably, those areas influenced by clearly visible human activity were farmland, city and areas with land use conversions between 2000 and 2010, and between 2010 and 2020, while areas with no changed land use coupled with anomalous vegetation restoration were defined as areas with weak anthropogenic disturbance. Therefore, for those areas mentioned above, we explored the relative contributions of climate change and human activity to vegetation dynamics by using residual trend analysis. The datasets includes: (1) boundary of the study area; (2) two leading spatial modes of NDVI anomalies and its corresponding principal components on the Loess Plateau during 2000-2022; (3) areas with strong and weak anthropogenic interference on the Loess Plateau; (4) spatial distributions for the impact of climate change and human activities on NDVI change in the Loess Plateau during 2000-2022; (5)spatial patterns of the corresponding month with maximum NDVI values in Loess Plateau during 2000-2022. (6) annual NDVI values in Loess Plateau during 2000-2022. (7) the principal components of two leading spatial modes of NDVI anomalies on the Loess Plateau during 2000-2022. The dataset was archived in .shp, .xlsx and .tif formats, and consists of 33 data files with data size of 9.56 MB (Compressed into one file with 8.76 MB).
