Abstract:

The Butuo Lake, including Butuo Cuoqing and Butuo Cuoqiong, is located at the Butuo Village, Dingqing County, Changdu City, Xizhang Autonomous Region of China. The dataset of Butuo Lake Changes in Xizang Autonomous Region of China (1988-2024) was developed based on the Landsat series and GF1 remote sensing images from 1988 to 2024, integrated with manual visual interpretation. The vector boundary data of Butuo Lake was developed, and the corresponding lake surface water area was calculated. The dataset includes 33 periods of Butuo Lake boundary data and water area data from 1988-1990, 1992, 1995-2007 and 2009-2024. The data results show that the maximum water area of Butuo Lake occurs in 2019, which is 16.14 km², and the minimum water area is 15.16 km² in 1990. Among them, the water area of Butuo Cuoqiong also reaches the maximum in 2019, which is 6.78 km² and the water area of Butuo Cuoqing reaches the maximum in 2021, which is 9.55 km².The dataset is archived in .shp format, and consists of 231 data files with total data size of 377 KB (compressed into one file with 272 KB).
