Abstract:

Four Mountains Islands are a group of islands in the Aleutian Islands, in southwestern Alaska. The Four Mountains Islands are located between 169°39′39.9″W-171°18′56.07″W and 52°26′40.38″N-53°5′0.62″N. The Four Mountains islands chain includes, from west to east, Amukta, Chagulak, Yunaska, Herbert, Carlisle, Chuginadak, Uliaga, and Kagamilislands. This island chain is located between Amukta Pass and the Andreanof Islands to the west, and Samalga Pass and the Fox Islands to the east. The Yunaska Island is the largest island with 172.19km2 in the Four Mountains Islands, and the Chagulak Island has the smallest area 8.61km2 in the 8 islands. The Chuginadak Island possess the longest coastline 98.95km. The total area of Four Mountains Islands is 548.92km2 and the total coastline is 349.78km. The dataset was developed based on integration among the Google Earth images and related maps and records. The dataset is archived in the .shp and .kmz formats with the compressed data size of 1.82MB.
