Abstract:
The Waygat Islands is located in the southern part of the Hinlopen Strait between Spitsbergen Island and Nordaustlandet (North East Land) in the Svalbard Archipelago of the Arctic Ocean. It is in Norway, and the geo-location is between 79°27′05″N and 79°12′52″N, 19°08′23″E and 20°13′38″E. The Waygat Islands consists of 33 islands (area of the smallest is 7,326 m²), they are Wahlberg Island, Von Otter Island, Nystrom Island, Nordenskiold Island and Berggren Island, etc. Among them, the largest island is Wahlberg Island with an area of 46.74 km². The total area of the Waygat Islands is 79.42 km², and the length of the coastline is 159.37 km. The dataset was developed based on Google Earth images around 2015. The dataset is archived in .kmz and .shp data formats, and consists of 17 data files with data size of 656 KB (compressed into 2 files with 458 KB).
