Abstract:

Wusi Reservoir is one of the winter fish-catching places in Panshi, Jilin province of China. It is located at the western slope of Changbai Mountain and adjacent to the Huifa River, a tributary of the Songhua River. It is administrated by Nantaihe Village, Niuxin Town, Panshi City, Jilin Province. The geolocation of the Wusi Reservoir is between 42°51′45″N and 42°52′9″N, 126°12′44″E and 126°13′19″E. In summer of 2020, the area of the reservoir is 277,342 m² and its perimeter is 2564 m. It is classified to be small 1 in the Reservoir Classification System. The water supply is from precipitation, snow melt water and the Huifa River. The annual precipitation in the region is about 740 mm, and the annual average temperature is 5.3 ℃. The lowest temperature appears in January, with an average of -18.4 ℃. The reservoir was built in 1985 and had a capacity of 1.18x106 m3. The average water depth is 1.5 m, and the deepest is 4 m. The bottom of the reservoir is silt with a thickness of 60 cm. The main function of the reservoir is to irrigate and nourish the downstream rice fields and the second is to breed the fish. The main fish species in the reservoir are Aristichthys nobilis, Hypophthalmichthys molitrix, Cyprinus carpio, and Ctenopharyngodon idellus. The benthic organisms are mainly mussels and snails. The water quality in the reservoir is better than Water Quality Standard for Fisheries (GB11607-89), according to the testing data in 2021. The contents of cadmium, chromium, lead, zinc and other elements are all zero, arsenic is 0.0048%, copper is 0.0001%, nickel is 0.0009% and mercury is 0.00004%, and the pH value is 7.2. The suitable period for Winter Fish-catching is from November 15th to January 16th. The dataset is developed based on Google Earth image. It is archived in .shp and .kmz data formats, and consists of 17 data files with data size of 40.5 KB (Compressed into two data files with 12.5 KB).
