Abstract:
The Cayman Islands locates western of Caribbean Sea, between 81°25′13″W and 79°43′22″W, 19°15′46″N and 19°45′25″N. It is the overseas territory of the United Kingdom, 142km north to Cuba, 212km southeast to Jamaica. The Cayman Islands consists of 14 islands (the area of the smallest one is 809m2), including Grand Cayman Island, Cayman Brac Island and Little Cayman Island, in which, the biggest one is the Grand Cayman Island with the area of 196.62km², coastline of 251.65km long. The total area of the Cayman Islands is 266.91km², the coastline of is 366.65km long. The dataset is developed based on the Google Earth images and the referenced maps. The dataset is archived in .kmz and .shp data format with the compressed data size of 1.40MB.
