Abstract:

Oases are non-zonal geographic units formed on the desert matrix of arid regions, driven by stable water sources. They serve as important carriers for agriculture, animal husbandry, and the livelihoods of people in arid areas. China is the country with the largest oasis area in the world, with a wide and diverse distribution of oases. Based on the detail datasets of oasis of China, the authors developed the video on oasis of China, which provides a detailed information about the dataset development and data encoding rule. It also analyzes the overall distribution of oases in China, with explanations of their distribution across various oasis regions and provinces. The video is available in both Chinese and English versions, and is archived in .mp4 format. The video has a duration of 4 minutes and 45 seconds, with a file size of 672 MB.
