Abstract:
The Sakhalin Island (Kuye Island), the biggest island of Russia, is located between the Sea of Okhotsk on the north and La Perouse Strait on the south,the Strait of Tartary divides the Sakhalin Island (Kuye Island) from the mainland of Asia. The Sakhalin Island (Kuye Island) is 850 km long from north to south, and 100 km wide from east to west. There is only 9 km from east to west in the Sakhalin Bay area. The geolocation of the island is from 141°37′1″E to 144°45′5″E, and from 45°53′7″N to 54°26′8″N. The area of the island is 74,718.26 km², and the coastline is 4,322.73 km long. The dataset was developed based on the Google Earth images, the dataset is archived in the .kmz and .shp data format with the compressed data size of 4.35 MB.
