Abstract:

Pitt Island is located in the eastern of the North Pacific Ocean. It is very close to the western shoreline of North American, only 0.45 km between them. The Pitt Island is 1.98 km separated from Porcher Island in the north, and 2.03 km separated from Campania Island in the south, and 4.13 km from Banks Island in the west. The geo-location of the Pitt Island is between 53°12'29"N and 53°54'41"N, 129°25'7"W and 130°17'44"W. It belongs to British Columbia, Canada. The total area of the Pitt Island is 1393.75 km² based on the Albers projection, and the coastline is 601.12 km based on the Lambert projection. The dataset is developed based on the Global Multiple Scale Shorelines Dataset based on Google Earth images (2015), combined with maps of Canada. The dataset is archived in .kmz and .shp data formats, and consists of 16 data files with data size of 3.53 MB (compressed to two data files with 1.37 MB).
