Abstract：
Botao Lake is a saltwater lake in Qinghai Province and located at the interior of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Its geo-location is between 33°58′24″N and 34°3′35″N, 89°53′31″E and 90°0′37″E. It is a fault basin between Zuerkenwula Mountain and Tanggula Mountain. The area of the Botao Lake is 71.23 km², and the lake shoreline is 39.80 km. The Botao Lake is located in the semi-arid climate zone with an average annual temperature of -6℃ and about 200mm of annual precipitation. The water in the lake is mainly from the surface runoff, meltwater, and the spring in the catchment area. There are 4 rivers flowing into the lake, among which northern Lanli River is the largest surface runoff and the others are intermittent streams. The vegetation types are mainly Qinghai-Tibet Carex and stipa purpurea around the Botao lake. The dataset is developed based on the Google Earth images (2015) and the referenced maps. The dataset was archived in .kmz and .shp data format with the data size of 377 KB in 15 files (Compressed to 147 KB in two files).
