Abstract：
Fractional Vegetation Cover (FVC) is defined as the ratio or percentage of the vertical projected area of vegetation leaves, stems, and branches on the ground relative to the total area of the statistical area. The study area covers that from 24°51'50" N ~ 34°13'29" N and 66°59'48"E ~ 74°20'33"E. The Fractional Vegetation Cover Dataset within 10 km Buffer Area along Peshawar-Karachi Motorway, Pakistan (2017) was developed using the Maximum Composite Method (MVC) and Dimidiate Pixel Model based on the NDVI data from Landsat-8 imagery. The dataset shows that the FVC is mainly in the range of 0.6~0.8, accounting for 39.62% of the total area; the FVC ranging of 0.4~0.6 and 0.8~1 accounts for 21.7% and 26.06% of the total area respectively; the FVC less than 0.4 accounts for 12.61% of the total area. The dataset is archived in .tif data format in 30m pixels with data size of 3.52 GB (Compressed to one single file with data size of 181 MB).
