Abstract:
Izu Islands is located in the western Pacific Ocean. It is governed by the Tokyo administrative jurisdiction (Tokyo Metropolitan Department), Japan. The geolocation of Izu Islands is 29°47′38″N - 34°47′57″N,138°48′55″E - 140°20′32″E. Izu Islands consists of Izu seven islands (Izu Ōshima, To-shima, Nii-jima, Kōzu-shima, Miyake-jima, Mikura-jima, Hachijō-jima), and a series of small islands, including the islands of Hachijō-kojima, Aogashima, Tori-shima, Shikine-jima, Udone-shima, Jinai-tō, Haya Island, Onbase Island, Tadanae Island, Ōnohara Islands, Zenisu, Inamba-jima,and and Smith Islands. It is 486 km long from north to south. The Izu Islands is part of the old and new of Fuji volcano Belt islands. The largest island is Izu Ōshima, usually it is called Ōshima. The highest peak of the Izu Islands is the summit of the Mt. Nishiyama located in the Hachijō-jima (854 meters). The dataset is developed based on Google Earth images integrated to the maps. The dataset is archived in both .kmz and .shp data formats with data size of 2.95 MB (Compressed to 1.12 MB in two files).
