Abstract:

The Southern Sporades, islands group in Greece, is located in the southeastern part of the Aegean Sea, in the Mediterranean Sea. Its geo-location is between 35°20′22″N and 37°48′47″N, 25°58′26″E and 28°14′50″E. The Southern Sporades consists of 458 islands and independent rocks (area of the smallest is 30 m²). The total area of the Southern Sporades is 3,477.45 km², and the length of the coastline is 2,461.07 km. In the islands, Rhodes Island is the biggest one with an area of 1,401.95 km². The dataset was developed based on Google Earth images around 2015. The dataset is archived in .kmz and .shp data formats, and consists of 15 data files with data size of 10.9 MB (Compressed into 2 files with 7.50 MB).
