Abstract:
Dataset of dry-wet index in the Lower Reaches of the Yellow River over the past 2000 Years was reconstructed based on Chinese historical drought/flood records and the Zheng’s method (Zheng J. Y. et al, 2006). These records were extracted from Chinese historical documents for 14 stations in the Lower Reaches of the Yellow River, including Hejian, Shijiazhuang, Xingtai, Anyang, Kaifeng, Xuchang, Nanyang, Xinyang, Dezhou, Jinan, Yidu, Yanzhou, Laizhou and Xuzhou. The method for the reconstruction was reported by Zheng J. Y. et al (2006) in details. This dataset files includes: (1) The sketch map of study area; (2) The table of dry-wet index in the Lower Reaches of the Yellow River over the past 2000 years, including the dry-wet index in 10-year moving window and the 50-year FFT filter. In the table, the dry was shown as negative values and the wet was shown as positive, as well a larger absolute value indicates a greater severity. The dataset covers a period from 133 BC (represent a 10-year window from 137-128 BC) to AD 1995 (represent a 10-year window of AD 1991-2000), with a few years or periods with data missing were marked as “N/A”. This dataset is archived in .jpg and .xlsx data format, and consists of 3 data files with data size of 1.54 MB (compressed to one single file with 958 KB). The relevant paper based on this dataset was published at Resources Science, Vol 42, No. 1, 2020.
