Abstract:

16 central cities are located at the Yangtze River Delta Region of China, they are Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuxi, Changzhou, Suzhou, Nantong, Yangzhou, Zhenjiang, Taizhou, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Jiaxing, Huzhou, Shaoxing, Zhoushan and Taizhou city. Based on the statistics yearbook of Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang Provinces during 2001-2012, and the analysis methodology of coefficient of variation, Gini coefficient, Herfindahl-Hirschman index and spatial autocorrelation index, Innovation assessment dataset for the 16 central cities in Yangtze River Delta Region of China (2001-2012) was developed. The dataset is consisted of 6 data tables in a single data file, they are: Table 1: Number of patent applications in 16 central cities in Yangtze River Delta, 2001-2012; Table 2: Trends of the variation coefficient, Gini coefficient and Herfindahl-Hirschman index of city innovation in 16 central cities in Yangtze River Delta region, 2001-2012; Table 3: Trends of the Global Moran's I of the innovation space in 16 central cities in Yangtze River Delta, 2001-2012; Table 4: Statistics of 19 driving factors on city innovation in 16 central cities in Yangtze River Delta, 2011. Table 5: Load matrix of three principal factors after orthogonal rotation on 19 variables, and Table 6: Coefficients of the factors driving city innovation in 16 central cities in Yangtze River Delta, 2011. The dataset is archived in .xlsx format with data size of 28.8 KB. The analysis paper was published at the Journal of Geographical Research, Vo. 36, No. 6, 2017.
