Abstract：
Refer to Atlas of 1: 50,000 in Mainland China edited by Japan Scientific Institute Co. Ltd. and Topographic map of 1: 50,000 or 1:100,000 of Jiangxi Province in 1930s collected by Institute of Modern History in Taiwan, the urban land use and city patterns in Jiangxi Province in 1930s were reconstructed on the ArcGIS platform based on the detail map from the Japanese in 1930s. Then urban land use and urbanization dataset of Jiangxi Province in 1930s were developed. It has a 10% error compare with detailed data from other studies. The urban land use data shows that the total area of urban construction was 87.09 km², which accounted for 0.053% of the Jiangxi Province. The overall urbanization rate of Jiangxi province was 0.047% in 1930’s. The dataset is consisted of three tables: (1) Perimeter of city wall and urban areas in Jiangxi Province in 1930s; (2) Urban areas of cities in Jiangxi Province in 1930s; (3) Urbanization levels in Jiangxi Province in 1930s. The dataset was archived in .xlsx format in one file with data size of 20.1 KB. The analysis paper based on the dataset was published at the journal of Acta Geographica Sinica, Vol. 73, No. 3, 2018.
