Abstract:

Based on the Soil map data in 1:1 million scale from the second national soil survey (1979), the boundaries of black and typical black soil regions in Northeast China were identified. The statistics result from the dataset indicated that the area of the black soil region was 556,000 km², including 146 counties; the area of the typical soil region was 333000 km², including 138 counties in Northeast China. The dataset is consisted of 14 data files and archived in .shp data format with the data size of 1.11 MB (compressed to one single file with 711 KB). The research article based on the dataset was published at Chinese Science Bulletin, Vol.66, No.1, 2021.
