Abstract:

Shanxi Province is one of the typical loess plateau regions. The drought is usually estimated by the surface evapotranspiration and precipitation. The dataset of yearly and seasonal surface evapotranspiration (ET) and potential evapotranspiration (PET) in Shanxi Province of China (2000-2014) was developed using band math and zonal statistics based on MODIS 16 global land evapotranspiration monthly data products. The dataset includes: (1) yearly, mean, and seasonal ET and PET raster data in Shanxi Province during 2000-2014; (2) the statistics data of monthly ET and PET in Shanxi Province from 2000 to 2014. In the raster data, the spatial resolution is 1 km and the unit is 0.1 mm. Besides, the boundary data of the study area is attached which comes from the National Geomatics Center of China. The dataset is archived in .tif, .xlsx and .shp data formats, consists of 214 data files with data size of 24.8 MB (compressed to one single data file with 14.4 MB). The analysis paper was published at Progress in Geography, Vol.39, No.2, 2020.
