Abstract：
Marakei Atoll is one of the north islands in Gilbert islands, western of the Pacific Ocean. It is part of the Republic of Kiribati and located between 1°58'8"N and 2°3'57"N, 173°15'2"E and 173°18'36"E. Marakei Atolls consist of two big islands and nine small islands, which are triangular in shape around a lagoon. The length from south to north is 10.55 km; meanwhile the widest is in the south, 6.54km from west to east. The area of two big islands is separately 12.49km² and 7.67km². The total area of Marakei Atoll is 20.20km², with the coastline of 66.54 km long. There are several populated villages at the atoll, they are: Rawannawi, Temotu, Buota, Tekarakan, Bwainuna, Norauea and Antai. The dataset is developed based on the Google Earth images and the referenced maps. The dataset is archived as .shp and .kmz data fomat, with the compressed data size of 228 KB.
