Abstract:

Terrestrial actual evapotranspiration (ET), including evaporation from soil and water surfaces, evaporation of rainfall interception, transpiration of vegetation canopy and sublimation of snow and glaciers, is an important component of the terrestrial water cycle and links the hydrological, energy, and carbon cycles. The spatiotemporal variation of water resource is critical for the vegetation in the Belt and Road and Surround Region. The Evapotranspiration Dataset in the Belt and Road and Surround Region (2015) (ETMonitor_ET_B&R_1km_2015 for short) is developed based on ETMonitor model, which combines multiple ET parameterizations for different land cover types, with multi-source satellite data as input. Several remote sensing and reanalysis datasets, e.g. MuSyQ LAI and albedo, MODIS land cover, ASCAT soil moisture, CMORPH precipitation, and ERA-Interim atmospheric reanalysis data, were also used to estimate daily ET and its components. The annual ET dataset was calculated as the sum of daily ET. The dataset at 1km spatial resolution is archived in Sinusoidal tile grid (10°X10°), 138 data tiles total, .hdf data format, the total data size is 379 MB and compressed data size is 136 MB.
