Abstract：
The society is facing the increasingly severe challenges of aging. Under such background and based on the theoretical framework of “active aging”, the author establishes an evaluation index system for the developmental level of the undertakings for the elderly from the dimensions of wellness, engagement, and welfare. This research studies 31 provinces in China and quantitatively analyzes the temporal changes, spatial pattern, and spatial mismatch from 2004 to 2016. Firstly, the index weight is determined by variation coefficient, and the comprehensive evaluation index is calculated by linear weighting method. Secondly, we reveal the evolution of time and space with the methods of mathematical statistics, gravity coupling models, and spatial mismatch analytics. Finally, based on the original data from China Civil Affairs' Statistics Yearbook, China Statistics Yearbook, and China Labor Statistics Yearbook etc. in 2004 and 2016, the dataset of development level of elderly undertakings in the mainland China is developed. The dataset consists of three tables: (1) aging undertakings level in 31 provinces of China from 2004 to 2016；(2) Descriptive statistics of aging undertakings level in the Mainland of China; (3) spatial mismatch index of 31 provinces in China from 2004 to 2016. The data is archived in. xls format in one data file with 31 KB. The analysis paper based on this dataset was published in Geographical Research, Vol. 38, No.6, 2019.
