Abstract:

Based on the statistics of the development of coastal tourism of China, three tourism areas had been identified, they are: Bohai Rim Area, covering Tianjin city, Hebei, Liaoning and Shandong provinces, Yangtze River Delta area, covering Shanghai city, Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, and the Pan-Pear Delta area, covering Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan provinces. Using the Decision Making Unit-DMU and the Malmquist methods, and the tourism industry statistics data from 1999-2012, the input-output model was established and the tourism industry’s efficiency data were calculated. The dataset is consisted of 5 tables, they are: Table 1 Comprehensive efficiency of three coastal areas from 1999 to 2012,Table 2: Pure technical efficiency of three coastal areas from 1999 to 2012; Table 3: Scale efficiency of three coastal areas from 1999 to 2012, Table 4 Comprehensive efficiency for coastal area in 1999,2006 and 2012; Table 5: Malmquist productivity of tourism industry for coastal area in 2000,2006 and 2012. The dataset is archived at .xlsx format with 18KB. The analysis paper on these data was published at the Journal of Resources Science, No. 12, Vol. 37, 2015.
