Abstract：
Big data has become a hot topic in all sectors of society. Big data will provide a new approach to scientific research, and possible a new revolution. Without data, without data sharing, our future research, including global change studies, and all aspects of research, will be challenged. The absence of data does not verify the reliability and veracity of many scientific findings, nor does it prevent scientific falsification. Without the data sharing effectively, there will be a lot of wasting national resources and delaying progress of science and technology development. The data sharing is still a major obstacle in China, although much progress has been made over the years. The Global Change Research Data Publishing and Repository and the Journal of Global Change Data and Discovery created an innovative direction for data sharing, which could be called as a new milestone of scientific data sharing in China. First of all, it calls scientists’ enthusiasm to be involved in the data publishing and sharing activities; secondly, it created a reliable procedure for data publishing and sharing, especially by peer review, and the third, it provides a power to the data quality control. All of these were what I want to encouraged when I was Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology of China. Congratulations and many thanks to Chinese Academy of Sciences, to Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resource Research, to Professor Liu Chuang, to Liu Chuang’s team and to all, who have contributed to the data sharing of China! The dataset was archived in .mp3 data format with data size of 28.1 MB.
