Abstract:

The urban heat wave in summer has become one of the most serious meteorological disasters. Taking the heat wave disaster event occurred in Nanjing urban area from August 7 to 13, 2013 as the research event, the near-surface air temperatures were estimated by integrating MYD11A1, Landsat 8 OLI data and meteorological station data. Based on the spatial interpolation data of air relative humidity and the calculation method of hot index and high temperature heat-wave index proposed by Huang Zhuo et al. (2011), the hot index and high temperature heat-wave index in Nanjing urban area was calculated, and the spatial-temporal dataset of high temperature Heat Wave in Nanjing urban area of China (7-13 Aug. 2013). The result indicated that the heat index of Nanjing urban area increases first and then decreases follow. Spatially, the northern and central parts of Nanjing urban area have a high hot index, indicating a moderate heat wave. The southern and suburban areas have a low hot index, indicating a mild heat wave. The dataset includes: (1) Boundary data of the study area; (2) daily spatial distribution data of hot index 7-13 August 2013; (3) daily spatial distribution data of high temperature heat-wave index. The dataset is archived in ArcGIS .shp format and raster .tif data format with pixel resolution of 100 m x 100 m. The datasets is consisted of 21 data files with data size of 73.5 MB (Compressed to one single file with data size of 25.3 MB). The research paper based on this dataset was published at the Journal of Geo-Information Science, Vol.20, No.11, 2018.
