Dataset of Nitrogen and Phosphorus Flow in Agricultural System Affected by Tourists in Wentang Town of Jiangxi Province of China (2018, 2020)

Abstract:

Nitrogen and phosphorus are important indicators of eutrophication of water column, and socio-economic activities are the main sources. Wentang Town of Yichun City, Jiangxi Province (114.298°E,27.690°N) was selected as the research area. Based on the life cycle of nitrogen and phosphorus, the typical agricultural economic system (abbreviated to system) was refined into cultivation subprocess, animal feeding subprocess, food processing subprocess, consumption subprocess and disposal subprocess. We took questionnaire survey in December 2018 and March 2020, and combined literature research to identified and sorted out the flow pathways of nitrogen and phosphorus of input, output, stock and loss of each sub-processes of the typical agricultural economic system, and of which amount of material carrier of nitrogen and phosphorus were quantified by data mining and fusion, and the underlying information dataset was established. Based on scenario of tourists’ consumption, the data of basic information of system and sub-process were combined with the corresponding coefficient to calculate the quantity of nitrogen and phosphorus of each flow pathway. Then the dataset of nitrogen and phosphorus flow in agricultural system affected by tourists was developed. The dataset includes: (1) geolocation of Wentang Town; (2) underlying data of tourist consumption behaviors and typical agricultural economic system and calculated coefficient of N and P; (3) the influence of tourist consumption behaviors on P and N flow in five sub processes: cultivation, animal feeding, food processing, consumption and disposal; (4) the influence of tourist consumption behaviors on P and N import and export in typical agricultural economic system. The dataset is archived in .shp and .xlsx data formats, and consists of 8 data files with data size of 143 KB (Compressed into one file with 135 KB).
