Abstract:

Based on the knowledge of simple vertical fracture model (SVFM), multi-parallel fracture model (MPFM) is built up and validated. A concept of heat transfer unit (HTU) has been put forward, which focuses the study of whole heat reservoir on a basic heat extraction unit. Several comparison cases, which mainly focus on the scale of HTU and the initial reservoir temperature, have been established to study the influence of the rock on the process of heat mining. The software Fluent was used for numerical simulation. The results suggest that the thickness of HTU has a negative effect on the fluid outlet temperature, but has a positive effect on the whole heat extraction rate; the length of HTU has a positive correlation with the outlet temperature and the lifetime of reservoir; the initial reservoir temperature is also of positive effect to the heat production temperature, but it has a negligible effect on the lifetime of the reservoir. In conclusion, better heat reservoir stimulation will improve the heat extraction efficiency. Since the heat extraction efficiency is controlled by both fluid and rock, in order to get better result, the injection production strategy should be matched with the reservoir stimulation result. The Experimental Dataset of the Multi-parallel Fracture Model on Heat Transfer Unit’ Impact is consisted of: (1) simulation data of fracture fluid outlet temperature with heat extraction when the HTU thickness is 20, 40, 100 and 200 m; (2) production temperature of fracture fluid with heat extraction obtained by SVFM method; (3)simulation data of fracture fluid outlet temperature with heat extraction when the HTU length is 500, 600, 800 and 1000 m; (4) simulation data of fracture fluid outlet temperature with heat extraction when the initial temperature is 200, 250, 280 and 300℃; (5)the temperature evolution of the rock HTU during heat extraction process in 5, 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 years; (6) rock temperature distribution in the rock HTU with different thickness of 20, 40, 100 and 300 m after 20 years heat extraction. The dataset is archived in .xls, .cas and.dat formats in 21 data files with data size of 257 MB (Compressed to one single file with data size of 14.3 MB). The analysis paper based on this dataset was published at Progress in Geophysics (in Chinese), Vol. 31, No. 3, 2016.
