Abstract:
Based on the records analysis of storm surge activities in the offshore and coastal areas of southeastern China from 1958 to 2016 and the daily Accumulated Storm Surge Potential Intensity (ASPI) data, the authors developed the dataset of extreme storm surge intensity in offshore and coastal areas of southeastern China (1958 - 2016). The dataset includes the following data from 1958 to 2016: (1) monthly, yearly, and decadal ASPI for strong storm surges; (2) monthly, yearly, and decadal ASPI for super storm surges. The spatial resolution of the ASPI is 0.25°x0.25°. The dataset is archived in .tif format, and consists of 310 data files with data size of 10.4 MB (Compressed into one file with 1.12 MB). The analysis paper based on this dataset was published in the Journal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Vol. 126, No. 4, 2021.
