Abstract：

The land cover dataset of the Capital Eco-area of Beijing in 2010 was developed based the integration of the SPOT5 images in 2010, Quick Bird image, as well as the in situ data collection. The result indicates that, the total area of Capital Eco-area of Beijing in 2010 is 3.48X105 km2, in which, the farmland (1.35X105 km2), forestland (1.01X105 km2) and grassland (7.74X104 km2) are the majority covers in this area，occupying 38.85%, 29.11% and 22.24% of the total area, respectively. The areas of impervious surface, undeveloped land and wetland were 2 X104 km2, 7.38X103 km2 and 6.67X103 km2, with the proportions of 5.75%, 2.13% and 1.93%, respectively. The forest and grass were mainly distributed in the western and northern area, and the farmland was in the southeastern area. The dataset with both ecosystem spatial and attribute data is archived at raster data format, with resolution of 100mX100m, and the compressed data size is 5.32 MB.
