Abstract：

Using the CTD (an oceanography instrument used to determine the conductivity, temperature, and depth of the ocean), the CHINARE teams collected the CTD data in 912 places in the Antarctic from geographical region 50?S-69? S，70?W–110?E in most years from 1984 to 2014. The CTD Dataset from CHINARE (1985-2014) includes 7 items, they are pressure (db), depth (m), temperature (℃) and salinity (psu), density (kg/m3), sound velocity (m/s) and potential temperature (℃) in each of 912 places. Two different methods had been used for the data quality control, since the instruments updated. For the data collected by the first to 24th CHINARE teams, the following procedure to be used for the data quality control: unify data format, data content and data steps, and then double check with mapping the data. For the data collected by the 25th – 30th CHINARE teams, the following procedure to be used for the data quality control: data conversion, remove pump extra data, data filter, align CTD, cell thermal mass, loop edit, bin average, derive, split, strip, ASCII out and sea plot.
