Abstract:

Akimiski Island located in the western of James Bay, which is the southeasterly extension of Hudson Bay of Canada. The Akimiski Island is the largest island of the James Bay. Its geo-location is between 52°40′1″N and 53°12′55″N, 82°3′15″W and 80°39′56″W. It is part of the Canada Arctic Archipelago. The area of the Akimiski Island is 3012.04 km², and the coastline is 263.34 km long. The Akimiski Island belongs to the Qikiqtaaluk Region, Nunavut Territory, Canada. The dataset is developed based on the Google Earth images and the referenced maps. The dataset is consisted of 15 data files, archived in both .kmz and .shp data formats with the data size of 238 KB (compressed to 104 KB in two files).
