Abstract：

The King William Island is located within the Arctic Circle in North America. It belongs to the Canadian Arctic Archipelago, and is located between Victoria Island and Boothia Peninsula. The King William Island is 85 km separated from Victoria Island in its northwest, 155 km separated from Prince of Wales Island in its north, and 3.3 km from the mainland (Adelaide Peninsula) by the Storis Passage and Simpson Strait in its south. In 1830, the island was discovered by Commander James Ross, and then it was named “King William Land” for the reigning British King William IV. The King William Island belongs to Nunavut of Canada. Its geolocation is between 69°54′22″N and 68°27′12″N, 99°32′48″W and 95°09′25″W. The area of the King William Island is 13259.59 km² and the coastline is 1555.35 km long. The island is flat and countless small lakes are scattered on the surface. Gjoa Haven, on the southeast of the island, is the mainly community. There is an airport in the northeast of Gjoa Haven. The dataset was developed based on Google earth images and related maps of Canada. The dataset is consisted of 24 data files and archived in the .kmz and .shp data formats with data size of 2.98 MB (Compressed to 2.06 MB in three files).Browse
