Abstract:
Cameroonian Oasis is primarily distributed around Lake Chad in the arid Sahel-Sudan climatic zone of northern Cameroon, between 12°27′29″N and 13°04′41″″N, 14°05′08″E and 14°34′07″E. Despite recent shrinkage of the lake’s surface area, oasis agriculture relying on lake water persists in the surrounding areas, cultivating crops such as date palms and cereals. The oasis serves as vital agricultural and residential hubs for local communities. The area of the Cameroonian Oasis is 2,035.32 km² (Albers). It is one individual oasis. The dataset was developed based on Google Earth 2020 imagery and related maps. The dataset is archived in .kmz and .shp data formats, and consists of 17 data files with data size of 1.77 MB (Compressed into 2 files with 783 KB).
