Orkney Islands, the archipelago of Scotland, is located in the northern of Scotland between Northern Atlantic Ocean and North Sea, Scotland and Shetland Islands, its geolocation is between 3°26′12″W and 2°22′11″W, 58°43′46″N and 59°23′59″N. The Orkney Islands consist of 102 islands, isles and skerries in total (the smallest one is 72m²). The major islands include Helliar Holm Island, Holm of Faray Island,Holm of Huip Island, Holm of Papa Island, Holm of Scockness Island, Hoy Island, Inner Holm Island, Mainland Island, Midgarth Island, Muckle Green Holm Island,North Ronaldsay Island, Papa Stronsay Island, Papa Westray Island, Rousay Island, Sanday Island, Shapinsay Island, South Walls Island, Stronsay Island, Sweyn Holm Island, Switha Island, Swona Island, Westray Island and Wyre Island.The total area of the Orkney Islands is 1,037.73km², the coastline of the Islands is 1,081.82km long . The biggest island of the Orkney Islands is the Mainland Island with the area of 581.96km², its coastline is 370.02km long. The dataset is developed based on the Google Earth images and the referenced maps. The dataset is archived in .kmz and .shp data format with the compressed data size of 2.61MB.
