The comparison dataset between prediction and ground observation on temperature in Northern Huaihe Basin of Jiangsu Province, China during the 2014 Spring Festival

Abstract:

The forecast maximum daily air temperature value of the important weather report of January 28 and the daily update forecast at 10 o'clock and the observed value over the northern of Huaihe Basin in Jiangsu Province from January 29, 2014 to February 2, 2014 were contrasted based on the conventional ground observational data. Using the forecast products from European Center (EC), America GFS and China T639 numerical model, the comparison dataset between prediction and ground observation on temperature in Northern Huaihe Basin of Jiangsu Province, China during the 2014 Spring Festival was developed. The dataset includes 27 statistics tables, including: statistics and comparison between forecasting and observing maximum daily air temperature data covering the northern Huaihe Basin in Jiangsu Province; statistics and comparison between temperature advection of T639 model and the observing date; statistics and comparison between forecasting from EC、GFS and T639 models and observing data of the 850 hPa air temperature at Xuzhou station; the forecast of 2 m air temperature of EC, GFS and T639 models and the observing data of the maximum daily air temperature at Xuzhou station; statistics and comparison between the observing 500 hPa height,850 hPa relative humidity and winds data and forecasting 500 hPa height of EC model; the sounding profiles of T, Td and wind speeds over Xuzhou station; the observing data of visibility, low cloud covers every six hours and daily AQI at Xuzhou station. The dataset is archived in .xlsx data format with the data size of 18.8MB. The analysis paper was published in the Journal of Meteorology and Environment, 2015, Vol.31, No.5.
