Abstract:

The Minfeng water system refers to the river system composed of Yatongguzi River, Niya River, Andir River and their tributaries etc., which maintains the existence of Minfeng Oasis. The main stream lengths of Yatongguzi River, Niya River and Andir River are 317.72 km, 228.39 km, and 215.94 km, separately (Lambert projection). The mountainous part of the Minfeng Rivers’ Basin is the catchment area of the Minfeng Rivers and their upstream tributaries. The geolocation of the mountainous part of Minfeng Rivers’ Basin is between 36°11'41" N and 36°56'58" N, 82°13'10" E and 84°30'49" E. The area of this basin is 8905.28 km² (Albers projection) and its perimeter is 632.00 km (Lambert projection). The regional elevation is all above 2000 m, and is classified as 9 classes. The area below 2500 m is classified one class, while the area above 2500 m is classified at 500 m intervals. The dataset was developed based on Google Earth images, ASTER GDEM 30m and in situ data. The dataset is consisted of: (1) Minfeng water system; (2) boundary data of the mountainous part of the Minfeng Rivers’ Basin; (3) elevation classification data of the Basin. The dataset is archived in .kmz, .shp and .tif data formats, and consists of 32 data files with data size of 12.3 MB (compressed to 3 files with 8.74 MB).
