Impact of ENSO on Rainfall Erosivity in Shaoguan during 1951-2013

Abstract:

Based on the monthly rainfall data in Shaoguan, Guangdong Province from 1951 to 2013 and the monthly rainfall erosivity model to calculate the monthly rainfall erosivity during 1951-2013 in Shaoguan. The sea surface temperature (SST), the Southern Oscillation Index (SOI) and the Multivariable ENSO Index (MEI) were selected as the indices of El Ni�o-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) to analyze the impact of ENSO on the monthly rainfall erosivity and obtain the dataset of impact of ENSO on rainfall erosivity in shaoguan during 1951-2013. The data result shows that rainfall erosivity show upward trend and evident seasonal variation and great variation between years; the effects of the SST anomalies on rainfall erosivity are highly evident. The dataset is consists of two tables: (1) rainfall erosivity and anomaly in Shaoguan, Guangdong Province from 1951 to 2013, including Annual rainfall erosivity, 5-year moving average rainfall erosivity, Rainfall erosivity anomaly, 5-year rainfall erosivity moving anomaly; (2) monthly ENSO index value and monthly rainfall erosivity in Shaoguan, Guangdong Province from 1951 to 2013, including Monthly rainfall erosivity /MJ�mm/(hm2�h�a), Multivariate El Ni�o-Southern Oscillation Index, Southern Oscillation Index /h/Pa** , Sea Surface Temperatures /℃*. The dataset was archived in.xlsx format in one data file with data size of 117 KB. The analysis paper based on the dataset was published at Scientia Geographica Sinica, Vol. 36, No. 10, 2016.
