Abstract：

Yili Oasis is located in Yili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. The data based on Google Earth images shows that the geo-location of Yili Oasis is between 43°17'18"N and 44°24'24"N, 80°23'12"E and 84°13'38"E. The area of Yili Oasis is 9929.19 km² based on the Albers projection, and its perimeter is 2666.09 km based on the Lambert projection. The rivers that nourish Yili Oasis are Tekesi River, Kashi River, Gongnaisi River, Kukesu River and Yili river. Their main stream lengths are 411.26 km, 303.00 km, 234.83 km, 198.14 km and 192.75 km, separately. The Yili River Catchment is the catchment area of the upper reaches of the rivers that maintain the existence of the Yili Oasis. Its geo-location is between 42°15'31"N and 44°50'31"N, 79°23'11"E and 84°59'58"E. The catchment area is 62713.63 km², and the perimeter is 1719.72 km. The elevation classification data in Yili River Catchment was developed based on the ASTER GDEM 30 m data. The elevation was divided into 13 types. There is one type below 500 m in altitude, and it is classified as one type every 500 m upward. The dataset is consisted of (1) boundary data of the Yili Oasis; (2) Yili water system data;(3) boundary data of Yili River Catchment; (4) elevation classification data of Yili River Catchment. The dataset is archived in .kmz, .shp and .tif data formats, and consists of 43 data files with data size of 70.1 MB (Compressed to 4 files with 46.5 MB).
