Abstract：
The Great Andaman Archipelago is the main part of the Andaman Islands of India. It belongs to the Indian Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The Bay of Bengal lies to its west, and the Andaman Sea, East Volcano Islands, and Ritchie’s Archipelago lie to its east; it is separated from Coco Islands by Coco Channel 40 km far away at its northeast and only 6 km far away from the North Cinque Island of Little Andaman Islands in its southeast. Its geo-location is 11°8′26″N-13°40′36″N, 92°30′48″E-93°6′14″E. It comprises the following islands: North Andaman Island, Cleugh Passage Group, Aerial Bay Islands, Stewart Sound Group, Interview Group, Middle Andaman Island, Baratang Island, East Baratang Group, West Baratang Group, South Andaman Island, Napier Bay Islands, Defence Islands, Port Blair Islands, and Rutland Archipelago. Among them, the biggest island is Middle Andaman Island, with the area of 148.81 km² and the coastline of 369.19 km. The total area of the Great Andaman Archipelago is 4741.40 km², and the coastline is 2208.39 km. The dataset was developed based on the Google Earth and related maps and references. The dataset is consisted of 15 data files and archived in the .kmz and shp data formats with the data size of 7.34 MB (Compressed to 2.89 MB in two files).
