Abstract：

Taking Yunnan surrounding area as the study area, which includes 56 counties in eight prefectures. The prefectures are Baoshan, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Lincang, Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Pu’er and Wenshan. 1-km Grid GDP Dataset in Yunnan surrounding area (1992-2013) was developed based on 22 DMSP/OLS nighttime light data from 1992 to 2013, land use data every five years from 1990 to 2010, and statistics data in Yunnan Province. The grid GDP of the primary industry was calculated mainly based on the land use data; and the GDPs of the secondary and tertiary industries were obtained using the "classification regression" method based on DMSP/OLS nighttime light data. Verification of the data shows that the error of the primary industry fitting value in each period is 1.1% at the maximum; the relative error of the fitting of the secondary and tertiary industries after classification regression is less than 7% in each period, and the relative fitting error of the final GDP of each period is less than 4.3%. The dataset includes: 1) the boundary data of the study area; 2) the grid GDP data in Yunnan surrounding area from 1992 to 2013. The dataset is archived in .shp and .tif data format and the spatial resolution is 1 km. The dataset consists of 95 data files with data size of 68.6 MB (compressed to one single file with the data size of 3.43 MB).
