Abstract:

Elevation classification dataset of Kazakhstan was developed based on the ALOS Global Digital Surface Model "ALOS World 3D-30 m" (AW3D30) data. The elevation was divided into 18 types. Among them, the elevation below 500 m were divided into the following five types: <10 m, 10-50 m, 50-100 m, 100-200 m, 200-500 m. Those regions above 500 m were divided into one type for every 500 m, a total of 13 types. Then the area of each type was calculated. The dataset is archived in .tif, .xlsx and .shp data formats, and consists of 16 data files with data size of 10.3 GB (compressed to one single data file with 34.7 MB).
