Abstract：
On September 20, 2026, invited by the Organizing Committee of the International Mushroom Days, China 2026, Professor LI Yu delivered his speech at the opening ceremony of the conference. Professor Li reviewed the major achievements of China's edible fungi industry over the past year from seven aspects: resources and breeding, cultivation, processing, AI, new technologies and new products, soft power, and cultural development. He also indicated the perspectives for the next decade. He emphasized that China's edible fungi industry will transform from a major industry into a truly strong one, benefiting not only entrepreneurs in the edible fungi industry and the vast number of mushroom farmers, but also rural development.
