Abstract：
On June 6, 2026, the International Summit on the Future of Higher Education was held in Shenzhen, China. Professor GONG Ke delivered a keynote speech at the Summit. The speech mainly consists of three aspects: (1) today's era is a dual transformation of digitalization and sustainable development, and the goal of this transformation is to achieve global sustainable development; (2) higher education itself faces severe challenges in achieving digital and green transformation, or in other words, transformation toward digitalization and sustainable development. This challenge is not partial but comprehensive and all-encompassing; (3) four recommendations are put forward to realize the green and digital transformation of education: A. establish multi-level digital and green transformation strategies at the national, regional, university, and all educational organization levels; B. break down barriers and implement systematic industry-education integration. It is necessary to break down boundaries between disciplines and majors, as well as between schools and industries, to create a borderless learning ecosystem; C. strengthen the foundational and strategically overarching role of STEM education in the overall educational transformation; D. enhance cross-school and cross-border cooperation.
