Abstract:
Based on the annual grassland degradation degree index (GDI) dataset in the Arid and Semi-arid Region of Northwest China, the authors calculated the average GDI value over many years and classified the grassland degradation degree into 4 types according to the guidelines regarding the loss rate of grass yield following GB 19377-2003: not degraded (code 1), slightly degraded (code 2), moderately degraded (code 3), and severely degraded (code 4). The dataset includes classification results for the entire time period (2001-2023) and classification results every 5 years (2001-2005, 2006-2010, 2011-2015, 2016-2020, and 2021-2023). The dataset has a spatial resolution of 500 m, and is archived in .tif and .txt format, consisting of 37 data files with data size of 261 MB (Compressed into one file with 5.55 MB).
