Abstract:

Based on the land cover data from 1980-2023 from Resource and Environmental Science Data Platform, we used the Google Earth Engine (GEE) cloud platform to extract temporally stable samples through multi-epoch pixel-overlay sampling, and integrated long-term multisource remote sensing imagery as well as meteorological and topographic variables. By combining the Random Forest Algorithm with temporal and spatiotemporal consistency constraints, we reconstructed an annual landuse dataset for China covering 1980-2023. Then the construction-land equivalent coefficient method was utilized to convert diverse land-use types into a standardized metric of anthropogenic contribution to obtain the 1-km resolution of the HAI dataset. The dataset includes: (1) 40 continuous epochs of spatial HAI data covering 1980 and annually from 1985 to 2023; (2) land-use transition matrices for five-year intervals from 1980 to 2023 and the code explanation file; (3) annual equivalent construction land area and national HAI data; (4) the process data for calculation. The dataset is archived in .tif, .xlsx, .clr and .txt data formats, and consists of 93 data files with data size of 1.93 GB (compressed into 1 file with 307 MB).
