Abstract:

Ji’an is located in the southeastern part of Jilin Province of China. It lies on the southwestern foothills of the Changbai Mountains, with the Laoling Mountains traversing the city from northeast to southwest. As a result, Ji’an has a temperate climate characterized by semi-continental maritime features. The case study area, Huadian Town, is situated in the northwestern part of Ji’an City, on the western foothills of the Laoling Mountains, covering a total area of 155.49 km², where located at the temperature conifer-broadleaf mixed forest zone. The pH of soil of Huadian town ranges from 5.33 to 5.38, showing weak acidity. The soil is rich in organic matter, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and other elements. Total nitrogen content ranges from 1.39 g/kg to 3.31 g/kg, the organic carbon content ranges from 16.79 g/kg to 42.32 g/kg, the total potassium content from 21.92 g/kg to 24.68 g/kg, and the total phosphorus content from 382 mg/kg to 521 mg/kg. Water quality test results show that all tested parameters meet the requirements of the national standard for irrigation water quality (GB 5084—2021). Ji’an forest-grown Panax ginseng is rich in total ginsenosides, with a content ranging from 6.11% to 6.33%. The contents of ginsenoside Rb1 and Re+Rg1 are both relatively high, with ginsenoside Rb1 ranging from 0.68% to 2.9% and ginsenoside Re+Rg1 from 0.93% to 3.1%. The GIES case dataset includes: (1) case area boundary; (2) physical geography data; (3) Ji’an forest-grown Panax ginseng product characteristic data; (4) socio-economic development data; (5) photos. The dataset is archived in .xlsx, .shp, .tif, .jpg, .pdf and .docx formats, and consists of 85 data files with data size of 36.5 MB (compressed into one file with 18.2 MB).
