Abstract:

The Baratang Island is located in middle of the Andaman Islands, the Bay of Bengal. It is separated from Middle Andaman Island at the north by Homfray’s Strait, from West Baratang Group at its northwest, from East Baratang Group at its northeast, from South Andaman Island at its southwest and from Ritchie’s Archipelago at its southeast. It belongs to the North and Middle Andaman administrative district, part of the Indian union territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Its geo-location is 12°3′48″N-12°18′47″N, 92°44′20″E-92°53′20″E. Its area is 240.44 km², and the coastline is 116.57 km. The dataset was developed based on the Google Earth and related maps and references. The dataset is consisted of 15 data files and archived in the .kmz and .shp data formats with the data size of 279 KB (Compressed to 110 KB in two files).
