Abstract:

The Qaidam Basin Catchment is in Haixi Mongol and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Golog Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province, Bayin'guoleng Mongol Autonomous Prefecture in Xinjiang, and Jiuquan City in Gansu Province. The geo-location of the Qaidam Basin Catchment is between 34°41′26″N and 39°20′4″N, 87°48′38″E and 99°19′9″E. The catchment area is 275,753.06 km² (Albers). The elevation of the catchment was divided into 9 types. The main rivers that nourish the oases are Qaidam River, Golmud River and Hongshui River. Their main stream lengths are 477.00 km, 421.72 km and 309.53 km, respectively. The Qaidam Basin Oasis consists of 45 oases with a total area of 39,051.06 km², accounting for 14.16% of the catchment area. The largest oasis covers an area of 30,647.27 km², accounting for 78.48% of the total oasis area. The dataset is consisted of (1) boundary data of the Qaidam Basin Catchment; (2) boundary data of the oasis; (3) river system of the catchment; (4) elevation classification data of the catchment. The dataset is archived in .kmz, .shp and .tif data formats, and consists of 62 data files with data size of 129 MB (compressed into 5 files with 53.2 MB).
